Inspired by Whitney's rounded corners blogger cards, I ordered some of my very own. She recommended Overnightprints.com and so that's where I ordered mine from. The front/back pictures above are just the low resolution previews and hence the sharp corners and muted colors. I can't wait to get them, sometime this week, I hope.
UPDATE:
I received my cards and they look great! Thanks, OvernightPrints! There are more reasons to use OvernightPrints.com for your printing needs. Read more about it at Farm Fresh Creative.
I recently jumped on The Paper Chase bandwagon and sent artist extraordinaire, Magic Jelly, some paper in exchange for a collage. So, I spent a great deal of last week compiling a collection of gift wrap, brown paper, origami paper, old greeting cards, maps, accounting ledgers, receipts and Muni stubs. I bid them a fond fair well and they're finally en route to Australia!
The Paper Chase is an ongoing project, so if you have paper you'd like to contribute, get on the bandwagon and send her your paper!
Nest is one of my favorite shops in San Francisco. This adorable boutique of rustic adornments have the most beautiful home decor, my heart flutters with joy every time I visit.
From stationery to pillows and throws, to clothes and jewelry, I guarantee that you will inch your way through the shop, savoring everything in sight.
Well, I could hardly resist leaving without a little something, so I bought this set of Sticky Notes by William Morris. So cute!

I nspired by Jessica Jones' thumbtack tutorial, I decided to make a bunch. I've been dying to make these thumbtacks since I first visited her blog several months ago, but a million nifty excuses trumped any of my attempts.
Well, Mother's Day is just around the corner and is the perfect excuse to set aside homework and laundry and other practical chores to get knee deep in crafts. You can check out the thumbtack tutorial HERE. Ms. Jones' illustrative instructions are very easy to follow. Emphasis: For the 1/2" button covers, you will need thumbtacks that measure 3/8" at the base. Any larger, then the thumbtacks won't fit inside the button cover.
For packaging, I decided to create origami gift boxes and thought that miniature boxes to house 6 thumbtacks would be endearing and so very cute. I found a simple origami gift box tutorial from Expert Village HERE. To create a cover, just use paper dimensions that are slightly larger than the base of the box.
The thumbtacks and the origami box were a great joy to create. Thanks, How About Orange and Expert Village for these rockin' tutorials.
