I am desperately trying to grow my hair. Right now, it is in that strange stage where it's getting kinda long, but not long enough to do anything with. For example, I can fix my hair in a short pony tail. But, I can only do so with a dozen bobby pins. Some times, I feel really frustrated with the length and layers of my hair, so much so that I at times feel that maybe it would be better to simply chop it all off!
When I feel impulsive for a haircut, I visit Strawberry Koi's YouTube channel for inspiration. Aya has plenty of tutorials on how to style hair in retro fashion. A favorite is the Classic Heidi Braid tutorial. Another is the 1950s Reverse Pompadour Rollback tutorial. Thanks for these videos, Aya. Grow, hair, grow!

Every so often, I play with Photobooth. While I was in the process of deleting old files and photos, I found these Photobooth pics, taken over the last two years. It's amusing to see how my hair style has changed over time.
2007: first pic
2007: comic book effect
2008: background experiment (Eiffel Tower)
2007: background experiment (sunset)
2007: background experiment (color dots)
2008: new wolky!
2008: post wannabe Amelie haircut
2008: this is how i look when i blog most of the time (oily)
2008: freshly-trimmed bangs
2008: a rare moment with my hair down.
and another
2009: how i look tonight (note presence of fascinator).

This is it. I'm going to grow my hair and I want it to look just like this, but in black.

And since I was late, I didn't take the time to fix my hair. Strangely, I received a compliment. The girl at Peet's Coffee remarked on my "wild unruly hair" -- which she said she loved. Since the likelihood of duplicating this look is pretty slim, I thought it would be nice to immortalize it. So here it is, my wild unruly hair, which received a rave review today.
Here's a close up:

I learned about this from Aorta Design. These photos are products of Yearbook Yourself. My favorite is Pugly circa 1980, third row, first photo.
