Dress Me Up in My Love: UO UK

I first saw this navy dress at Cait's blog, She's Got a Passion for Fashion. Cait was invited to the Urban Outfitters opening in Edinburgh in the UK and this dress was on her noteworthy list. I agree with Cait. It is a pretty dress.

But alas, I learned that not all UOs are created equal. Though available in the UK, this dress is nowhere to be found in the US rendition of the UO site. I know this because I actually scoured the dresses section at urbanoutfitters.com. That's too bad. Anyhow, I saw this saffron top and think it's tragically cute, too.

Dress Me Up in My Love: *Comfie*

Some of you may already know that I have an affinity for all things Japanese, especially their food, fashion and kawaii cultures. On the fashion front, one trend that I've seen a lot of lately is a style called "comfie" (yes, spelled with -ie, not -y). It's also sometimes called "relax mode". Prominent features of this style are: soft, comfy, baggy and loose with lots of layers. Beyond stating the obvious -- that it's a cute look -- I really like it because it's highly practical and if you take into account my extensive dog-walking activities, it's evident that this look fits my lifestyle quite well. Take a look at these comfie ensembles, all from Fudge Magazine, Volume #76.

Dress Me Up in My Love: The Golden One

Emma Pillsbury Collage by The August One

I was reading this tribute to Emma Pillsbury by Caitlin from The August One. Inspired by Emma's style, Caitlin created this pretty in pink, teal, and yellow Polyvore collage. The colors in the collection complement each other really well and I'm particularly drawn to the golden mustard sweater.

The Golden Sweater

Admittedly, though the placement of the sequins looks a bit strange, even garish, I love the sweater. Or perhaps, I simply adore the color, reminding me of our old home, which I terribly miss. Sniff. Either way, the sweater is fabulous. As my homage to that golden sweater, I'm going to share with you all the collections that include it.

Anna Sui for Target Revisited

Anna Sui for Target

I'm going to eat my words: the Anna Sui for Target collection was much better than I had anticipated -- I came home with two dresses, the prettiest ones my closet, I must say. I loved this blue dress, too and really wish it was available in my size.

Dress Me Up in My Love: Kate Spade Fall 2009

I have always been a huge fan of Kate Spade handbags. Until recently, I didn't know Kate Spade made clothes, too. Well, the Kate Spade Fall 2009 collection is utterly darling, just perfect and happy for Fall. I must say, I'm partial to the ensembles with colored tights.
