Music Mondays @ UO
I’ve been listening to the same music over and over again for the last couple of weeks. As much as I enjoy my current rotation (Amelie soundtrack, Wizard of Oz soundtrack, Louis Prima, and Django Reinhardt), it's getting a little old, so I'm open to change.
Did you know about UO's Music Mondays? Well, every Monday, UO has five fresh songs available for listening or download. I didn’t think I would enjoy these tunes very much, but I really liked them, especially the first two, which are reminiscent of Arcade Fire. You can sample them now by hitting the play button below. Hooray for good (and free) music!
On a different note, I want to give you a heads up about my schedule: due to my involvement in some fun projects, my posts will be fairly sporadic for the next few weeks. Regular posting will commence soon enough, though.
FYI: I will host yet another very random and short-lived Just Because Giveaway some time next week. No Lula this time, but I promise that it'll be prize-worthy.

When I want to find new music, I usually use one of these two places:
www.pandora.com
(You basically create "radio stations" with certain bands or even songs, and based on that they site will suggest new things. The drawbacks are that you can only skip 6 songs an hour [or something close to that] and you can't replay songs on demand. They will keep a thumbs up or thumbs down list for you though, and if you like a song, you can always youtube it!)
OR
www.last.fm
(With this site they have more info about bands, and include pics and the like, but it takes more time and searching. They do allow you to play tracks on the site, but not all of them. Some bands don't have full songs or any songs. But again, there is youtube...)
I hope that those two sites help you next time you need a change!
Miss Pretty,
Sounds like you're going to be super busy. Take extra special care of yourself and remember your vitamin C. I always get sick when I'm busy. Oh, I'm with eme813, Pandora.com is a great place to find new music.
Here's to being busy and finding new inspiration.
love and hugs,
Fritzi Marie
yaaay for new music and prize-worthy giveaways! I have finals next week, so this'll give me something to look forward to! :)
Oh, wow. Thanks for sharing about UO's free music!!
Looking forward to your next giveaway!!
I wasn't familiar with UO, much less their Music Mondays -- thx for the info!
Random sidenote: have you seen "The Darjeeling Ltd"? (Good movie, subtle humor) More importantly, have you got the soundtrack?? Random good times there, particularly the Typewriter Song.
... if you're lookin' for random tunes. :-)
Thank you so much for this tip! I have the same problem, falling into a rotation of music that's comfortable and familiar. But these are some pretty good jams, especially the Port O'Brien song. I'll check it out more frequently in the future now!
yay for free music! i find new music & then play it over & over until i move on to something else. i always do this.
Yay, free music! Thanks for telling us about this. I love discovering new bands. Right now I'm on a kick with Circa 1500... they play Tudor and Renaissance era music. I find it very soothing without being boring!
