I'm obsessed with Trader Joe's Rice Crispy Bars. Oooh... I'm salivating just thinking about it. Okay... must concentrate.

We are loyal Trader Joe customers. We love the quality and the prices of their food. All our staple items are from TJ's: frozen fruit, snack bars, shredded wheat cereal, cornflakes, milk, canned beans, tofu, salad, etc. etc. etc. We buy the same staple items every other week and as you can imagine, we can get pretty bored if we don't mix it up once in a while.

So, we started experimenting with a wide variety of Trader Joe snacks. Yes, the Rice Crispy Bars were a hit! At least with me, anyway. I can tell you this: I can make a pretty wicked batch of rice crispy treats, but they don't even come close. The TJ Rice Crispy Bars are perfectly buttery and sweet and ever so soft and gooey. I can finish an entire bag all to myself -- it's that good! One bar a day for 8 days. Well, I just ran out and I'm seriously jonesing for a TJ Rice Crispy Bar. Mmmmm.... Truly a MUST TRY.

Before I had to stop eating sugar, that was my favorite store-bought indulgence. The Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookies are also wonderful. And yeah - finishing the whole bag by myself? Done that, been there.

I think someone ought to start a Trader Joe's Review Blog where folks can post their favorite TJ foods. I've never seen the crispy bars but they look so num. My favorite product of late is their vegetable fried rice. I pour a bowl for lunch, pop it in the microwave (it's really not fried) and add soy sauce or leftover chicken. SO good.

Chez Shoes: I hear you on the Vegan Chocolate Chip cookies -- I used to eat it all time, too. Soft and nutty... YUM! But I think I ate too much of it for far too long (when I like something, I eat it compulsively for months on end until I get tired of it).

BDS: You know what? We don't ever cook -- not anymore -- not since we tried the frozen goods at TJs. With TJ's, who needs to cook? Seriously! A TJ blog would be a hit, I would imagine. Though, there's a couple of TJ Flickr groups which I joined today.

Those look divine! I'm going to put that on my list. . . and then hide them from my daughter (is that wrong??). I was just there too, darn. My latest fave is the creamy, raw Almond Butter over a cracker, with some honey or preserves. Semi-guilt-free mmmmmmmm, mmmmmm goodness!

Thanks, Deb -- Almond Butter sounds yummy dangerous. I wonder, does it taste like marzipan? I'm intrigued and will grab a jar during our TJ Shopping next weekend.

Oh, and about the rice crispy bars -- buying multiple bags may solve the problem! =)

This post is made of win. I've been meaning to stop at TJs for a while. I want to try mochi...and now I apparently want to try their crispy rice bars. I recently bought some cinnamon almonds, and those are also delish.

Ooohh...I LUV LUV LUV mochi. Let me know what you think of it. Cinnamon almonds, eh? Lately, we've been munching on the sesame seed covered almonds and those are delish, too. So are the honey roasted peanuts.

Thanks, Danielle -- will try the cinnamon almonds next week.

1. I tried the rice bars. Frickin' DEEElish! 2. I tried two flavors of mochi--chocolate and green tea. The chocolate was much more palatable, in my opinion. The pastry stuff around the ice cream is also sort of weird, but that's okay.
