Hot Sox Giveaway
I'm hosting my first giveaway: Hot Sox. I love socks. They protect our feet and can make them look cute, too. I'm giving away three pairs of Hot Sox. Here are the rules:
Post a comment describing your favorite socks of all time, past or current. What did you like about them most? The texture, the print, or both? Or, perhaps neither and they're your favorite purely for sentimental reasons...
ONE winner will be selected at random using Random.org's Random Integer Generator. Entries will be accepted until Friday, August 15th and the winners will be announced on Monday, August 18th.
So go on, if this sounds fun to you, please do share tales of your favorite socks.

What a fun giveaway! I don't wear socks all the time, even in the winter, but when I do wear them, you can bet they're cute ones. I don't even own any socks that don't have a crazy pattern on them. :)
My favorite pair of socks ever is a pair of grey socks with little fluffy white sheep with pink noses standing in little green tufts of grass. They socks themselves are thin and super-stretchy and the seam doesn't irritate my pinky toe like so many socks sometimes do. I love the print because a) it's super cute and b) the colors don't clash with anything I own. Sadly, they have sprouted holes and now even making sure I wear them on the right feet (you know, like when there's a hole toward one side or the other and if you wear them so the hole is by your big toe, it'll stick out, but if you wear it on the other foot, the hole will usually just lay innocuously on top of your smaller toes?) doesn't cut it anymore. I can't bring myself to throw them away yet, but I end up taking them off every time I try to wear them. :(
Like Seven, I often do not wear socks, but the ones I do wear are all kinds of crazy patterns. My favorites for several years running now have dogs wearing sweaters on them. Dogs! And sweaters! It doesn't get much better than that :)
I have been known to sport brightly colored (think electric pink!) or boldly designed socks (lots of stripes!) with shoes that don't match...like open heeled or mary jane Danskos. Or other things (just not with sandals). But my all-time favorite pair of socks are from all the way back in seventh grade. They were this joke of a gift...purple with these little turtles all over them. I wore the crap out of them, but I think I had them well into high school. I had to sadly throw them out because they had holes. Now my favorites are purples ones with polka dots!
I don't sport socks often in the summertime, unless I'm at the gym, but in the winter I've definitely got a few favorites. One pair is these soft, pink-yellow-orange striped ankle socks that I'll wear with anything. Another all-time fave is these super long, thick, so-ugly-they're-cute, woolly green socks with a reddish stripe along the top. I bought them just before I spent a winter in upper New York (brrrr!), and they're still the best when it comes to staying warm and/or adding a bit of bulk to boots that are a little loose.
I love cute patterns on socks.. like that sushi socks you have. I'm all about prints on socks - if they're cute, they're my fave. My fave pair would be this long black tights with sweet flower prints on them. They look great paired with my short skirt :)
The socks I've had the longest are a pair of green and white striped soccer socks. They're not necessarily my favorite, and I haven't worn them in ten years, but I've kept them around because they remind me of a great time in high school.
I remember a pair of red knee socks with white hearts that I wore in 8th grade on Valentine's Day. It was also the same day I came down with chicken pocks.
chicken pocks? did i really write that? POX. I mean POX.
I have a awesome pair that are cotton and have monkeys on them. Something about the texture feels warm and comfortable on a weekend of jeans and warm cotton sweater weather. I bought them in CT visiting a friend and I think it just is a reminder of that trip and the fun conversations and catching up. Anyway, everytime I look at them through my work week, I can't wait to wear them when the weather is cold.
my daughters gave me little pink socks with hearts and MOM all over them.........
My favorite pair of socks is black with green smiling frogs on them. Their significance is sentimental. Lois, a friend of mine, and I once made a silly video together. It was intended to be a guided tour of our church for the children to see. Lois was 70-something and I was 40-something at the time. I bought two pairs of matching frog socks for us to wear. We sat on the couch in the lobby at our church and filmed our feet "talking" to each other at various points in the video. We had to stop filming quite a few times because we kept collapsing into giggles. My friend has since died of cancer but what a blessing it was to know her and to wear our socks together.
My favorite pair of socks are these pink lovelies with hot pink skull and crossbones on them. I love skulls, but you know what I love more? SUSHI!!!
