Pugly's Rigorous Facelift

Decor8.com

Have any of you seen Decor8's new look? It's stunning. If you haven't seen it, you must go there right away. My jaw dropped when I visited last Monday to see the winners of Decor8's Inspire Me Giveaway. No, sadly, I didn't win. But, I was blown away by Decor8's new look. I loved everything about it from the highlights of the soft pastels to the contrast of the light linen background. I especially like the pastel tabs below the blog masthead. Oh, and how about the yellow pad background for the dual columns on the right? A fine touch, indeed.

Messy Kitchen

Decor8 was the inspiration behind PuglyFeet's masthead facelift. Though the technical changes didn't come easy, it was well worth skipping clean dishes and a tidy household for several days. And yes, it was even worth all the tears I shed in frustration on Saturday at 1 AM. CSS can get really complicated.

Messy Bedroom

But I'm done and what a big sigh of relief. I'm happy with PuglyFeet's new look and I hope it's a visual improvement for you, as well. Oh, and I added a new feature: PuglyFeet's Weekly Shoe, which you can see on the top right side of any page. Additionally, it will be easier to distinguish Daily Mug from The Blog with the color-coded mastheads -- yellow for Daily Mug and pink for The Blog.

I tried to view PuglyFeet's blog improvements from a variety of browsers and OS platforms. Short of the comments page, all pages are XHTML compliant (reCaptcha does not produce XHTML- compliant markup). If there are pages that you think look strange from your browser, please let me know by sending me a comment or by using this contact form.

Golden Apple, Blue Nails

Golden Apple, Blue Nails

Free time is so sweet and I spent it painting my nails blue. I've had Sephora's Turquoise Blue #55 for about two weeks now, but haven't had the time to try it until today.

Thank You, My Shtub

My Shtub Giveaway

I entered multiple giveaways in July and it feels great to win this one. I won a fabric scrap giveaway from My Shtub. Apparently, the people who initially won didn't respond and luckily, my response was selected as part of the second batch that ended up winning. In turn, I got some cute paper and fabric. Thank you, My Shtub. :D

Hot Sox Giveaway

Hot Sox

I'm hosting my first giveaway: Hot Sox. I love socks. They protect our feet and can make them look cute, too. I'm giving away three pairs of Hot Sox. Here are the rules:

Hot Sox

Post a comment describing your favorite socks of all time, past or current. What did you like about them most? The texture, the print, or both? Or, perhaps neither and they're your favorite purely for sentimental reasons...

Hot Sox

ONE winner will be selected at random using Random.org's Random Integer Generator. Entries will be accepted until Friday, August 15th and the winners will be announced on Monday, August 18th.

Hot Sox

So go on, if this sounds fun to you, please do share tales of your favorite socks.

Poppin' Socks

Poppin' Socks

I have a great love for socks. This great love affair started all thanks to Alison from high school. She sat right next to me in AP History. Every time I reached into my backpack, my eyes were magically drawn to her funky socks, which you could only see when she was sitting down. One time, she wore burgundy penny loafers with green argyle socks. Another time she wore Scooby Doo. Sometimes black and white polka dots and other times, a rainbow of stars. Despite her funny socks, Alison was always well-dressed -- very JCrew. Though her socks were totally off the wall, they polished her look and added a special flair to her personality. Needless to say, this made a great impression on me and I've been in love socks since.

Poppin' Socks

Reading your sock tales have been very entertaining -- thank you for sharing them. But it occurred to me today that I haven't shared my favorite socks yet. Here's my top three:

Poppin' Socks

The first pair of socks -- the one I've been wearing a lot lately -- are my black Betsey Johnson bare leg socks with white lace ruffles. I'm generally not a big fan of lace ruffles, but I like these a lot for some strange reason.

Poppin' Socks

The second pair of socks I like because of the print. I love the colors and the design. It's very Helen Dardik, wouldn't you say?

Poppin' Socks

The third pair is perhaps my most favorite of all -- my pair of nasty gophers. They're thick and plush and I love to wear them on very cold days as slippers around the house. My feet feel as though they're going to melt like butter whenever I wear these nasties.

Poppin' Socks

So there. My favorite socks. :D
