Irregular Choice
I'm always on the lookout for fabulous shoes. If I spot shoes that are edgy and look a bit quirky and different -- even better.
I was browsing through a Flickr friend's photostream and I became intrigued with one picture in particular. She had recently ordered Sky Fox by Irregular Choice, chunky high heels with polka dots and critters. This struck me as unusual and quite honestly, I wasn't sure if I liked the shoes so much as I felt strange and caught off guard by critters on her shoes. When I noticed that the critters were actually unicorns, my mind flashed back to the 80's, and all of a sudden, I was sitting in front of my grandmother's television set, watching episodes of My Little Pony. After recovering from that, still intrigued, I googled Irregular Choice. I was pleased with my findings.
Irregular by name, irregular by nature, as the story goes, "The idea is to make you look twice, with garnishing and detail that any wedding cake would be proud of."
I'm a bit ashamed to admit this, but guess what I did most of the afternoon? A day *well-spent*, I literally combed through the Irregular Choice official website for my favorite styles; downloaded images; read much about the founder and sole designer of IC, Danny Sullivan; perused through the Look Books of seasons current and past, and googled Irregular Choice for stockists. If it's not already obvious, I'm completely and insanely smitten with Irregular Choice. Unable to choose a few samples to show you guys, the following are my many favorites.
At the end of this long day, I'm green with envy of Jasper von Ginger's strange and lovely pair of critterlicious unicorn kicks.
