I used to poke fun at homes decorated with plastic flowers. I don't know, somehow they reminded me of people who protected their plush sofas with clear plastic covers, begging the question: What's the point?
Whatever the source of these disturbing thoughts, plastic flowers never failed to conjure these sterile images in my mind. Can you imagine the turmoil I felt in the floral department at Ikea the other day? Well, let's just say that I lingered in that department for a long long while.
Anyhow, I left Ikea with a nice bouquet of tulips and Gerber Daisies and some other gorgeous flowers.
I scattered them all over the house -- a vase in each room . I tell ya -- I love them and have no regrets whatsoever. However fake they are, they sit nicely and have quite a presence. They are simply lovely.

The moment Joan spelled the letters "H-A-L-F-F-U-L-L" with teeny tiny silver letters on her vintage teal counter at Timeless Treasures the other day, I sighed. "Half Full" speaks volumes about the way one sees the world and although I see the world as Half Empty more often than I'd like to admit, I'd certainly like to be reminded with two simple words how simple it is to alter one's view of the world in an instant. Half Full. Immediately after she spelled out Half Full, I quickly walked over to her treasure trove of vintage letters and bought the letters which spelled my new mantra. With a bit of museum wax, I mounted the letters on the lovely pub mirror given to me by my generous sister, Aurora.
The ever so brilliant Joan also suggested DusK: Doug us Katrina. Love it. The letters are mounted over the pub mirror I scored from Target several years ago.

I have learned, as a rule of thumb, never to ask whether you can do something. Say, instead, that you are doing it. Then fasten your seat belt. The most remarkable things follow.

Meet my latest obsession: Ous #20766-004 by Camper. The combination of colors and patterns are absolutely striking. How do you like the tweed? What a work of art. Well, since I'm still recovering from moving expenses, Ous will have to wait on my fertile Wish List. Ous is oui oui oui!

I wish that I had paid more attention to the Jovovich-Hawk for Target ad campaign when it first came out several months ago. There were several that caught my eye, but I ignored them. My last clothing purchase from Target, which involved blue Mossimo pajamas, stained an entire load of laundry. Just lovely. Since that happened a few years ago, I easily ignored the Women's clothing department at Target... until I saw this skirt.
I actually walked passed the skirt but couldn't resist a double take. I took a few steps back, grabbed the last one in the rack, tried it on, fell in love wiht it and brought it home.
The Floral Paisley Skirt in Ebony/Ecru by Jovoich-Hawk for Target is beautifully made. I adore the color and the fabric and love the price. At $24.99, it was worth every penny and more.
