I'm very picky about the jewelry that I wear and usually do not wear jewelry given to me as gifts because they're almost always either gold or pearls. This was true up until today.
When a friend returned from his vacation, he brought me a beautiful jade bracelet from a Buddhist temple in China. I was stunned by its color -- I had never seen jade like it before. I fell head over heels for it instantly and would happily wear it daily. Thanks, Yiyi!
I love Colour Lovers. Surfing through all the delightful colors and patterns makes me happy. I can literally spend hours wandering about their website, as I did last night.
In addition to being a practical designer resource, I learned that Colour Lovers is also a kind of social networking site for color afficionados. So I created a profile and added palettes, patterns and lovers (as in color Lovers) all night.
Last but not least, I was able to extract the colors from the picture I took last week of my new Campers into a nice color palette which I named Green Grass:

If only my job required a dress code, it might then be easy to rationalize the purchase of pair or two of John Fluevog Shoes
. Since our office is casual Friday everyday, I'm out of luck. These Mary Janes are adorable:
Oh, and these boots are to die for:
