My order from Automaton arrived and I'm so happy and ever so in love with it. It's sooooooo cute!!! I wore it around town as I ran my errands this morning and have received two compliments on it already. Who ever said that diamonds are a girl's best friend? I'll wear my Black Coffee In Bed ring over a diamond ring any day.

From a reliable source who wishes to remain anonymous:
"I just spoke to my Dansko company sales rep whom knows all. Dansko I've learned will continue to make the professional bottom but will do so partly in chinese factories. The professional bottom (meaning everything stapled) will also be changed, (for the better they say), and I believe and hope they're right. I'm not allowed at this point to discuss the changes that will be made to the professional bottom as it's proprietary information to Dansko and I of course do not wish to be seen as swaying my loyalty away from Dansko by giving away their information. All I can say is that Dansko will continue making a 'professional' clog, including the Marcelle, extremely similar to what most consumers know now and I believe myself that it will be better even not having seen it personally."
Okay, here's my final final Marcelle update. I was able to buy a pair of Sanita Marcelles on Amazon. The great news is that they look like the Marcelles we're ordinarily used to -- the ones with the lovely lines -- the ones with the seams in front (as opposed to these). I placed my order Thursday evening and though they're not scheduled to arrive until Thursday, December 6, they're now in Oakland, California, so chances are highly favorable that I'll get them tomorrow!

Needless to say, my Secret Mission is over. If you are at all curious, it entailed discretely following a bidding war gone awry on eBay. However, since my Amazon find, I've abandoned it completely. Hooray!
I proudly admit it: I love Forever 21. It's the source of 70% of my wardrobe. Granted, their stuff is mass produced and obviously not handmade. And yeah, some times, the quality falls below standard. But, if you can amass patience and look carefully, it is possible to find items that look fantastic and if you know how to care for them (ie. handwash with cold water and air dry), they can long outlive the coolest trends and last for years to come. Above all, the prices are unbeatably low.
