What is PuglyFeet?

PuglyFeet PuglyFeet's Daily Mug is the photo-blog of an extremely flat-footed woman in the lovely Sunset District of San Francisco who loves ground patterns and stylish comfort shoes and strange enough to take pictures of her horrific feet wherever she goes. Additionally, PuglyFeet has a traditional blog where she writes about her interests in stylish comfort shoes, fashion, crafts, art, technology, and her life as a thirty something woman in SF. PuglyFeet.com is her celebration of the mundane in her extra wide and extra fugly PuglyFeet.

Who is PuglyFeet?

Katrina Tan The woman behind PuglyFeet is Katrina. She is a Computer Science student at San Francisco State University. She looks forward to taking PuglyFeet for a walk to the tune of Pomp & Circumstance in Spring 2009. Despite all the attention she gives to her puglies, she is also a devoted wife to her man, Doug and a devoted mother to her canine kids, an American Staffordshire Terrier, Mojo; the cutest miniature Pomeranian of all, Chico; and the sweetest Pug of all, Taco. Doug is a swimmer and he is envious of Katrina's natural flippers.

Why PuglyFeet.com?

After failing to get a job as a web developer at her university, Katrina thought back to where she had stumbled during the interview. They asked her about things she knew a lot about: PHP, CSS, HTML, all the usual things. She was familiar with all those. Heck, she's created a PHP and MySQL driven MVC ecard website, Katzeye.com, using her old school VIM editor. But then they asked her about new mysterious things that she had heard about, but hasn't done anything with: XHTML, Web 2.0, web standards and semantics. Though she's heard of these, she floundered and was dead in the water. So out of that crash and burn, the phoenix arose and she resolved to dedicate her life to learning about XHTML, Web 2.0, and web standards. Hence, the conception of PuglyFeet.com, a project where she incorporated her shutterbug tendencies, her love of shoes, and her endeavors to learn more about web standards and XHTML compliant markup.
